Royal Mail Approved Biodegradable Window Film - Innovative and Environmental
The team at MPS (Mail and Print Services UK Ltd) and their production partners have proactively designed and sourced the first fully biodegradable mailing pack to be approved by Royal Mail.
Window Envelopes are commonplace in today's mailing environment with Western Europe getting through over 100 billion a year, but the plastic film in window envelopes is an obstacle to effective recycling. Substituting a paper-based transparent window is an environmentally caring solution from Mail and Print Services UK. The window film is a satin finish material made from a cellulose base wood pulp sourced from managed forests that meet the Sustainable Forestry Initiative standard, which means that more trees are replanted than those harvested and no endangered hardwoods are used. The window material is fully biodegradable and EN 13432 approved and it provides excellent surface tension and high machinability at all speeds, so, now MPS' window envelopes are both recyclable and biodegradable.
This has been a breakthrough as other biodegradable films recycled polythene has never previously met Royal Mail guidelines for CBC and OCR readability; The ENVIRLOPE has been approved by postal authorities in the UK.
The MPS window envelope is no different to any other envelope; normal construction and production processes can be applied, it carries the same qualities as a conventional envelope except its 100% biodegradable. Furthermore, if the envelopes are constructed from a range of 100% recycled and FSC approved paper stocks the mailing pack can be made even more environmentally friendly.
The ENVIRLOPE is the perfect answer to Direct Mail users who wish to add value to environmental initiatives, or whose brand guidelines require a responsible approach to waste and recycling throughout mailing campaigns.
